Concept Note 14th Chetna Yatra
- The B&CS industry is on the threshold of a major transformation as we have completely replaced the analog networks with DAS. There are approx. 1400 Digital Addressable System (DAS) licence holders in India out of which more than 50% DAS Licence holders will not survive due to lack of knowledge, unprofessionalism, incompetent, etc.. 14th Chetna Yatra is focusing on ‘DIGITAL INDIA – FIT INDIA’ and also spread awareness to All DAS Licence Holders throughout the Country about ARPU, Piracy, Billing, GST, Digital Content, SMS, OTT, Broadband, VAS, IPTV, etc.. As per MIB phase IV of DAS has been completed successfully and Digital Set Top Boxes (STB) have been seeded in all the States & Union territories.
- DAS Phase IV covered 30 states, 5 Union Territories, 8000 number of urban areas and 689 numbers of Districts and 183 million TV households, as per data released by the MIB.
14th Chetna Yatra will be flagged off on 5th Sept., 2018 from New Delhi to 31st Oct., 2018.
The Objectives are:
1. To educate & create awareness among MSOs, DAS licence holders & LCOs to do business as per Digital Addressable System (DAS) law.
2. To educate MSOs, DAS licence holders & LCOs regarding: Latest Technology Up-gradation, Itemized Billing, Linkage of Subscriber data with Subscriber Management System, A-la-Carte & Package of Channels, Filling of Subscriber Application Form & many more.
3. Spread awareness about Anti-piracy, Copyright & telecast only permitted channels by MIB.
4. We will make aware and prepare our industry people about pros & cons of various MIB guidelines, TRAI rules & regulations, impact and incidence of G.S.T guidelines of Govt. of India, Taxation & on many other policy matters.
5. How to increase ARPU from ground.
6. Branding yourself as Broadcast Service Provider.
6. We will organize discussions, meetings & lectures en-route of Chetna Yatra which will be delivered and attended by National & Independent MSOs, DAS licence holders, LCOs as well as the industry experts and captains of the policy makers etc.
7. Information on Technology Up-gradation Like Digital Content, SMS, CAS, STB & HITS, OTT, VAS, Broadband, IPTV, etc.
8. Skill development.
9. Spread awareness to promote more independent headends & also about the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Loan Yojna (PMMY) facility for any technology up-gradation or new setup.
